Finding peace of mind in the planning process
Every bride wants their day to be perfect, so much so, they begin to obsess over every detail and can’t seem to relinquish control. You’re not supposed to be a one-woman show so reduce your stress levels with these five tips on how to master the power of delegation:
YOUR BETTER HALF
Marriage is a partnership so get the practise in from now! Sit down and list all the tasks that are outstanding. Focus on each other’s strengths and interests then split the tasks up accordingly. Sometimes all you need is a conversation to clear the air and get the ball rolling.
YOUR BRIDAL PARTY
Your friends aren’t just gorgeous eye candy for the day, they’re here to help. That includes the lads! Don’t be shy in asking for help and trust them to get the tasks done. Schedule regular sessions to do a bit of DIY and planning. Two minds are better than one!
YOUR VENDORS
On your day, you’ll be surrounded by experts and pros so gain what you can from their industry knowledge, expertise and network before the day! They may be able to plug a knowledge gap and point you in the right direction.
YOUR SPREADSHEETS
If you’re not used to tracking your planning and expenses then this can seem a little fiddly but you’ll get used to it in no time. By having a store of all your in-goings, outgoings and timings, you’ll be able to plan in advance and call on extra support during the intense periods.
YOUR PRIDE
No one will judge you for asking for help so let your guard down and let your friends in! It’s important to create a plan and then stick to it so don’t let too many cooks spoil the broth; feel empowered push back as and when needed but don’t let your desire for the perfect day prevent you from enjoying the process.
